In Opelika, Alabama, the Grand National has two excellent 18-hole courses for play: The Links Course and The Lake Course. The Grand National has hosted the 1997 Nike Tour Championship, the 1998 LPGA Tournament of Champions and more recently the 2000 NCAA Men's Division 1 Golf Championship. The 18-hole Links Course of Grand National presents large bent grass greens and bermuda fairways.

Grand National's Lake Course is every bit as scenic as the Links, with 12 holes hugging the shore. Not only is the quartet of par threes as good as any in the nation, the 230-yard, island green 15th may be the single prettiest hole on the Trail.
The unique signature hole, number 15, features a natural island green. In 1996, the Lake Course was ranked number 38th by Golf Magazine in the "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." |
